Tulsa Public Schools today announced the release of a smartphone and tablet app called School Connect. The free mobile app is available for both Apple and Android devices.

The School Connect mobile app is a secure communication tool that allows individual schools and the district to easily deliver important communications and reminders to parents and students. Features of TPS's official app include:

  • Push and email messaging from both the district and school sites;
  • Maps and navigation to school sites and stadiums;
  • School calendars;
  • Online grade book access;
  • Email addresses for district staff;
  • Lunch menus, athletic information, and much more.

"Tulsa Public Schools' new School Connect app allows everyone in the community access to district information on their smart phones and tablets," said Dr. Keith Ballard, superintendent. "The release of this app is a sign of our commitment to provide our parents, students and community members easy and timely access to important district and school information and announcements. We are excited about how this app will lead to a stronger, more connected school community."

School Connect keeps the entire school community up-to-date on important district information in one simple location on their mobile device. Users can receive notices from the school, teachers and staff instantly through the app. The app is expected to improve community participation by providing users with access to school activities, athletic schedules and scores and school calendars.

This app was provided to TPS at no cost through a partnership between Jostens and School Connect -- a leading developer of mobile applications for schools and institutions. Both companies understand the importance of keeping schools and communities connected, and they are providing the School Connect app with no fee to users and will offer support services for the app free to the district. The app is paid for by school-friendly and approved sponsors.

"School Connect is excited to be working with Tulsa Public Schools to help reach the district's goals for effective and accessible communications throughout the entire school community," said Dr. Nick Migliorino, School Connect founder and president, who is a former educator. "People are busier than ever and rely on their mobile devices to be connected to what matters most. School Connect allows schools and community members to stay connected through a free and robust mobile platform that will continue to evolve based on their needs."
